The difficulty to fight for survival and save the deteriorating Earth becomes increasingly challenging as the seasons go on in the show, The 100. Drama, mystery, death, and saving the human race have the viewer binging countless episodes in one sitting.

Airing in 2014, The 100 sci-fi series about a group of 100 jailed juvenile delinquents who are banished from an orbiting space-station colony and sent to live on Earth, 97 years after a nuclear apocalypse. Their journey into this crazy new world and the dangers that come with it test them and determine if they have what it takes to live without the comfort and support of their parents and guardians.

Watching this show is not only fascinating and intriguing, but enlightens the audience on realistic topics such as responsibility, harsh environmental conditions, death, and unity. These concepts force the characters to push themselves to their limits.

The show has finished, but the fans are awaiting the final season to come out on Netflix. Season 6 ended with a cliffhanger – we last left the character of Octavia being captured by an individual that only she knew, her friends were left confused and without time to question her. Not only that, she is the only one who could help figure out the mysterious figure in space that stumped them prior to her disappearance. At the start of season 7, we finally get to see Octavia develop and come to the realization that unity is possible and the only option for survival.

Relying on each other is a common theme in the show and it is very relevant to our lives right now. In The 100, different groups of people are living on Earth, each relying on the people that they are close to to survive against difficulties from things like weather, lack of supplies, and other groups. Currently, during the pandemic, we have been forced to rely on family members and even close friends to help us make adjustments and adapt to new lifestyles. Although we cannot relate to the show on a literal level, we share the realization of how important integration is.

This show is definitely worth watching because it is action-packed and develops the characters in a way that helps you connect with them, making the events more intriguing and fascinating. The surprises are endless and hook you with new mysteries and plot twists in every episode!
