Senior Memorial

ALEX RICCARDO

Alex is a member of the cross country, track, and basketball teams at Cresskill High School. He has lived in Cresskill all his life and has taken part in clubs such as the yearbook club. He plans to continue his track career for the next 4 years at the University of New Haven.

Favorite memory?: “My favorite memory during my 4 years of high school has to be my game winning shot in my last career game. It was a very fun season despite Covid affecting it but it was a great way to cap my career off.”

What do you leave behind?: “I am leaving behind all the teachers I have developed a relationship with and I truly gave my all to the track and basketball team during my 4 years as well.”

COLLEEN MCQUILLEN

Colleen is a member of the girls basketball team and has started and played varsity all 4 years of high school. She is the schools’ all time leading scorer and led the team to 3 sectional championships. She is also a member of clubs such as the yearbook club and PACT. Colleen will continue her basketball career at Fordham University.

Favorite memory?: “My favorite memory during my time at Cresskill High School has to be my 3 sectional championships I won for basketball. It is something I worked very hard for and it is something I will be able to cherish with my teammates for the rest of my life.”

What do you leave behind?: “I’d like to think I left a legacy for young girls to look at and think that they are capable of doing whatever they set their mind to, despite being in a small town.”

BRANDON TILP

Brandon is a track athlete and soccer player who has attended Cresskill since Kindergarten. Brandon participates in the Yearbook club. Brandon is attending the US Airforce Academy following his graduation.

Favorite memory?: “My favorite Cresskill memory is when we as a grade collectively threw spirit day as 8th graders, despite the 8th graders winning it every other year.”

What do you leave behind?: “I leave behind my legacy as a member of the Cresskill sports teams.  Soccer team went from placing in the middle of the league to one that is now seen as a Powerhouse 2 years in a row co-champion.  That was on the track team I scored hundreds of points to help the team to win various dual County and sectional championships as well as breaking the decades-old 4 x 400 record.”

DINA AZAR

Dina Azar is a volleyball player who is an active member of the Yearbook club. She is attending Lafayette College next year.

Favorite Memory?: “My favorite memory from Cresskill definitely falls in the four years that I spent in the yearbook club with the advisory of Mrs. Cardenas. I was an academics editor my sophomore year and co-editor in chief with Colleen McQuillen my junior and senior year. I was able to form great relationships with the new team of editors each year and gained many valuable skills in design and layout applications and in organization. One of the most notable parts of yearbook is getting to see the moments captured in pictures that other students experience, as well as having the creative freedom to develop them into a theme that encompasses each year.”

What do you leave behind?: “I founded the Cresskill student action refugee club my junior year to raise awareness for increasing severity of this crisis and the decreasing attempts of bigger countries to aid these people. I hope that this has had a lasting impact on at least one underclassmen in order for it to be continued next year due to the necessity of this message to be spread across high schools.”
