Sophomore Sella Sharon dislikes the update and sees it as a lack of freedom for users and their decisions. He said that, “Apple should have implemented multiple options for customers to choose from instead of a fixed choice. Options like how music shows up on your lock screen and how notifications appear should all be a choice,” this was one of the biggest and therefore one of the most controversial changes brought about by the article.
Even though Sharon understands there may be some beneficial features of the update there is a key and main detriment: battery life. Sharon notes, “It’s actually crazy how my battery has been terrible and drains so quickly every day since the new update. I have a newer iPhone and got it last year and it’s like I’m asking every person I know if they have a portable charger on them.” This has been a key component in the argument against the new update. The battery life was described as unbearable and “seems like another tactic for Apple to force you to get a new phone.”
Sharon is “disappointed in how Apple handled these new features”, he believes that, “so much more could have been expanded and used.”
