A Dunkin Trip a Day Makes The Sadness Go Away

A Dunkin Trip a Day Makes The Sadness Go Away

After a long month, Dunkin has reopened with a much-needed makeover and the infamous 20-car drive-thru line has returned. Fans of the Dunkin on Piermont Road are ecstatic about the refreshing new interior and even more excited that their favorite place for quick snacks is back in business. “Dunkineers” have piled into the newly renovated space during prime hours of 12-2 pm to enjoy one of their many signature menu items.

Caitlin Mcgee, a devoted “Dunkineer” shared a few thoughts on it closing for a month, “I craved it every day but the other Dunkin was too far and wasn’t the same.”

During the summer, Caitlin got Dunkin every single morning before work with her go-to order of a Cheddar Bagel Twist and her Dragon Fruit Refresher and never got sick of it. Now during the school year, she doesn’t go as often but still reserves at least two lunches during the week for her favorite spot.

While Caitlin had only good things to say about Dunkin, Senior Erin Fahy had other words saying “ Dunkin in Demarest is better, it is more consistent.” However, she emphasized the fact that the drive-thru in Cresskill was much more convenient and much closer to home and therefore preferred it over the one in Demarest.

Due to the closure, Erin lost her Gold Status on the Dunkin app because she was unable to travel to Demarest as often.  Both Erin and Caitlin are relieved that Dunkin is finally open as trips there have become a staple before or after Saturday basketball practices.  The closing of Dunkin served as an inconvenience for Cresskillians during December. Many resorted to the infamous (and very expensive) Starbucks in Closter whereas others went without a delicious refresher or a Dunkin signature coffee for a whole month eagerly waiting for the return of this Cresskill staple. Since it has been back, the drive-thru line during peak hours has been at an all-time high and the food has been nothing short of amazing!
