The Cresskill football team traveled to Wood-Ridge on Friday, November 4, 2016. The Cougars took the lead in the first quarter, as senior John Connelly scored on a 48-yard pass from senior Jack Maltby. Moving on into the second quarter, Wood-Ridge’s Jake Colon scored on a 42-yard pass from Mike Giancaspro. Yet, the Cougars matched that and more, as senior Thomas Garzino scored twice, one on a 92-yard kick-off return and the other on a 38-yard pass from Maltby. In the third quarter, junior Ben Stein ran the ball 38 yards to score. There was no scoring from either team during the fourth quarter. Junior Yianni Tolos converted two of three extra-point attempts and Wood-Ridge’s Matthew Roncaioli converted one extra-point attempt. Senior John Connelly scored on a two-point conversion pass from Maltby in the second quarter. Cresskill beat Wood-Ridge, with a final score of 28-7.
