A new season is here, and the CHS softball team is excited to play. As the Cougars step into a new league, one question is on everyone’s mind: Does Cresskill softball have what it takes to bring home the league title?
Last year showed major improvement, but this time, it’s different. With years of preparation, and countless hours of hard work, the Cougars are ready to make a serious run this spring.
Head Coach Germano is confident about the team’s chances this year. “We are going to be a strong contender for the league title with the new league alignment,” she says. It’s a mindset that shows the team isn’t just hoping to compete, they expect too.
This team has been working hard during the preseason to prepare for the upcoming challenge. According to Germano, “All the girls worked really hard during the team winter training and in the off season. I feel so confident going into this season. The team chemistry is really something special.”
Even with some challenges, the goal for the team is clear. Winning the league title would mean a lot to both the team and the school. “It would be so great for the program,” Germano said. “As head coach, I have spent 8 years building this program to where it is now. The last time we won the league was 1986. It would be a great accomplishment to bring home the title after 40 years.”
Now the Cougars believe they have the talent and determination to make it happen. This season, they aren’t just playing in a new league, they’re chasing something bigger. After years of rebuilding, hard work, and dedication, the Cougars believe this is their chance to make CHS history.
