A recent addition to Englewood’s food scene, Bear Donut is already making an impression on all foodies.
Originally founded in New York City, Bear Donut expanded to Englewood in January of 2026, bringing a new flavor palette, heavily influenced by popular, trendy Japanese/Korean tastes. They are known for incorporating unique flavors like matcha custard and black sesame- flavor profiles known for their distinct taste.
Recently, while hanging out with some of my friends, I ordered several of their donuts along with a strawberry matcha latte. The drink stood out. It was sweet, slightly grassy, but refreshing and addicting.
The donuts were the clear highlight. The texture is best described as “cloudy, chewy, and airy,” with those qualities evident in every bite. The flavoring on top complimented the texture well, never being overpowering or overwhelming. The experience felt thoughtfully crafted rather than one-dimensional like many other places.
Others agreed and expressed similar sentiments. “I enjoyed it a lot,” said Gavin Kim. Sarah Park, well known for her refined taste from sampling hundreds of unique dishes, was even more enthusiastic, describing the donuts as “amazing.” Tim Shim wasn’t the most helpful source, but even he agreed that it was a standout dessert.
Bear Donut is definitely a spot to visit in Englewood. I’d rate it a very high 9.3/10.
