In a nail-biting 57-56 overtime victory in the semifinals of the Bergen County Jamboree, senior Luka Radovich hit the game-winning shot with 5 seconds left to lift sixth-seeded Cresskill over fourth-seeded Hackensack off an assist by senior George Sikoryak.

The Cougars are currently a perfect 23-0, but that isn’t the only milestone the team has reached. Luka Radovich came up big for the team once again and  hit 1,000 points this past Thursday against Bogota, and Cresskill will be the first Group 1 public school to make it to the semifinal round since Waldwick 18 years ago; Varsity coach Dan Egorow feels that, “it means a lot to [the] program. It shows that the hard work does pay off, and the more that you put in, the more you’re going to get out.” They also earned the first seed in the Group 1, North 1 state tournament bracket.

This Sunday, the Cougars will take on the Ironmen of Don Bosco Prep at 1:00 at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Rothman Center in the quarterfinal round of the Jamboree.

According to Coach Egorow, the team is “going into Sunday playing a little loose, a little free, but [with] a goal in mind and [they are] hoping to take down Don Bosco”.
