How to Prepare for Summer
If you’re like me, you probably can’t wait for the cold and gloomy days to turn into long days full of warmth, fun, and sunshine. Summer is your break to relax, do what you want, and have fun! If you want to have the best stress-free summer, it’s best to start preparing as soon as possible. It’s never too early to start planning and thinking of summer.
1. Clean out your closet and shop for new clothes!
Get rid of all of your old clothes which you no longer wear and shop for new clothing. When cleaning out your closet, making three piles is always very helpful. Create a throw-out pile, a donate pile, and a keep pile. Keep all of the clothes you 100% would wear again, donate clothes that you wouldn’t wear again but that
other people may like or need, and throw out any clothes that have holes, are stained, or you know you and other people would never wear. After cleaning out your closet you’ll be left with a lot of space! That calls for a shopping spree! You’ll have a fresh and stylish new closet for summer and the upcoming years! Some stores that I recommend for shopping are Garage, Hollister, Aerie, PacSun, and many more!
2. Set a plan
It’s way better to start planning early than to leave it to the last minute! Think about the top things that you would like to do this summer or the top places you want to visit with your friends! Not only is planning months ahead way less stressful but it is also a huge money saver. For example concerts. Trying to buy a concert ticket really close to the date will be really expensive because the tickets are most likely all sold out so it’s just resellers overpricing tickets. Instead, you’ll have access to more affordable tickets if you buy them earlier on. Planning your activities ahead is a great way to not only save money but to also have a worry-free summer trying to plan activities last minute.
3. Set goals for yourself
Setting goals for yourself is one of the most important things when it comes to summer. Think about how you would like to walk into this summer and how you can make it better. Whether it’s eating healthier, working on your mental health, getting your dream summer body, or learning new useful skills for when the time comes, you will be much happier knowing that you accomplished your goals, and a happy and self-loving mindset will bring a summer full of joy and positivity!
4. Summer playlist!!!!!
Summer is not the same without listening to music. Creating a summer playlist with all of your favorite summer and vibey songs is a great way to prepare for the season. The best summer playlists have upbeat and feel-good tracks. The songs should be nostalgic classics that remind you of past summers and adventures. But most importantly, the playlist should include songs that you love. Music is essential when it comes to long car rides, lounging at the pool, or just hanging out in the sun. Overall, having a summer playlist is a fun and simple way to prepare for the season and ensure that you have the perfect soundtrack to accompany you throughout the summer.
5. SAVE YOUR MONEY
My biggest advice to anyone trying to prepare for summer is SAVE YOUR MONEY. Summer often comes with a lot of exciting activities to do such as concerts, surf lessons, beach trips, and don’t forget the daily Starbucks trips. These activities can get expensive, and without proper financial savings, it could be very hard to enjoy your time. If you want a stress-free and fun summer, trust me and start saving as soon as possible!
