With all the drama surrounding Taylor Swift’s love life, I think it is very appropriate to give my opinion on all her exes.

1. Joe Jonas: 5/10

They briefly dated, making this relationship kind of irrelevant. But, it is known that he broke up with her over the phone, which made for an amazing last minute breakup song on her album, Fearless, called Forever & Always.

2. Taylor Lautner: 10/10

Ugh, one of my favorites. I’m going to choose to ignore that they’re both named Taylor, because their relationship remains iconic. She allegedly wrote Back to December (one of my favorite songs) about him, expressing that she misses him and regrets their breakup. They are also on very good terms now, as he makes jokes on his Tik Tok that John Mayer needs to watch out for the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).

3. John Mayer: -100/10

Gross. No. Ew. The iconic Dear John was written about him, dragging him through the mud, highlighting their huge age gap (13 years!!!) and his manipulation. Mayer then goes on to diss the song on Rolling Stone, saying it’s “cheap songwriting”. 

4. Jake Gyllenhaal: 2/10

As a Swiftie, I should probably hate him, but his movies are too good. However, he broke up with Swift out of nowhere and STILL WORE HER SCARF. The majority of the album Red is about him, and with the release of Red (Taylor’s Version), she dropped a 10 minute version of the song All Too Well, flaming Gyllenhaal for how he treated her.

5. Harry Styles: 9/10

Both the owners of the music industry right now, it’s hard to name a more powerful couple. They are on very good terms, shown as she was the first person to stand up for him at the Grammys. Styles is also responsible for the majority of the songs on 1989.

6. Calvin Harris: 5/10

This relationship was pretty brief and not as talked about. Swift did write one of my favorite songs about him, Getaway Car, so I’ll remain with a neutral rating.

7. Tom Hiddleston: 7/10

These two started dating pretty recently after Swift and Harris’ breakup. It was rumored that Hiddleston wanted to marry Swift but she declined… yikes poor guy. He’s an overall sweetheart.

8. Joe Alwyn: 7/10

Only recently did these two break up, and it’s a doozy. They dated for 6 years, and is responsible for multiple songs and albums like Reputation and Lover. She broke up with him just before her Eras Tour, and went straight into dating Matty Healy. This relationship is one of my favorites, and I sympathize with Alwyn.

8. Matty Healy: 0/10

Not the biggest fan of this. Apparently they called their relationship quits already (thank God). Healy isn’t known as the best person, and has dissed Swift in the past. He also dissed Ice Spice, and Swift just released Karma featuring her, so make it make sense why Swift was involved with him.
