If you don’t know what a bed decorating is you are missing out! It’s a new and trendy way to celebrate your college commitment with your friends and family. Bed decorating started in 2020 through TikTok and other social media platforms. The idea blew up and now many people have one. It allows high school seniors to celebrate their commitment to college in a fun way. 

How they work:

Bed decorating usually takes place in May after the commitment deadline. It’s when your friends and family get together and plan a little surprise party for you. They decorate your bed with your college’s merch, different snacks, balloons, streamers, tumblers, flags, and other decorations that match your school’s colors. This is such a fun way to celebrate your accomplishment of committing to college.

When asked what her favorite thing was that she was given for her bed decorating, Sydney said, “My favorite thing was all the merch”. Sydney was also asked how she felt when she saw her bed for the first time and she said, “I was so happy. It was really nice seeing people cared and were thinking of me”. 

Maddie was asked if she knew about her bed decorating and she said, “I had no idea when it was going to be. I was so surprised when I walked into my room to see all of my friends and the amazing job they did”.
