Cresskill High School’s track and field team celebrated the new achievements this season as Senior William Cusick and Sophomore Keaira Marshall set new school records in their respective events.
William Cusick

Senior William Cusick has recently made history by breaking the school record in the 110 meter hurdles, running an official time of 14.6. His dedication, training and determination has finally paid off, as he delivered a strong and bold performance. Cusick has surpassed the long standing record of 15.1 seconds, which was set by Rich Miller’s in 1990. Between the 35 year gap, the closest hurdle time to Miller’s time was 15.82 in 2019. Cusick has made a big accomplishment in his final season as a Cresskill Cougar, and gives future hurdlers at Cresskill High School something to aim for.
Keaira Marshall
On the field side, sophomore Keaira Marshall has made her big impact in the school by breaking the long jump record with a leap of 18” 3’. Keaira passed the previous record of 17” ½ inches, which was set by Maryan Hassan in 2016. Even though she’s only a sophomore, her performance shows how much talent and potential she has for the future. The hard work and talent has helped her reach this goal, as she’s expected to improve her jumps for the upcoming years.
These record breaking achievements by Will Cusick and Keaira Marshall are exciting moments for the track team and themselves. They’ve not only made school history, but also inspired their teammates and the future generation. Their success shows the hard work and dedication they have put into their season this year, and the past years.
