Fall Preview: Visual Arts

Olivia Newman, Editor in Chief

You’ve heard of the National Honors Society, the National Language Honors Society, and maybe even the National Music Honors Society, but never before has Cresskill High School had a branch of the National Art Honors Society- that is, until now. Run by Mrs. Gelshinsky and open to all students who are proficient and express enjoyment in the visual arts, this society will allow students at Cresskill to get involved in a wider art community. By giving students information about scholarship opportunities, such as the Young Arts Contest, and competitions like the New Jersey Fire Safety Poster contest to further their artistic capabilities and motivate them to be creative, the National Art Honors Society offers many opportunities that were not available in the past, and will definitely be an exciting and interesting new addition to our school’s art program.
