Are The Starface Pimple Patches Worth It?

Are The Starface Pimple Patches Worth It?

As it sounds, the Starface pimple patches are pimple patches in the shape of stars with the goal of reducing pimples. The patches contain beta hydroxy acid that’s clinically proven to dissolve dead skin cells and unclog pores. Therefore, it shrinks the inflammation and appearance of pimples. To see the best results, it suggests leaving the patch on overnight for over 6 hours.

I have been using the Starface pimple patches for the last half a year. From my experience, the patches indeed reduce the redness of my pimples and oftentimes help inside-the-skin-pimples heal. However, I see the best results after approximately 3 days of wearing the patches for most of the day. One day, I decided to put acne medication with benzoyl peroxide (bacteria killer) and on top of it add a Starface patch. This sped up the process of my pimples healing extremely. When senior Sydney Migardos tried this combination, her pimple “disappeared overnight.”

Although the Starface patches have helped with the healing of my pimples, I believe their biggest benefit is blocking me from popping or touching my pimples: the two worst things one can do to their pimples. When I do not wear the patches, I am tempted to pop my pimples and constantly touch them without even realizing. Senior Lior Oren shares, “I always think that I will make the pimple heal faster by popping it. However, I end up scarirng my face. By investing in Starface pimple patches at this age, I am taking a protective measure for a smoother face in my future.”

There are plenty of different pimple patches, so why spend $11.99 for 32 pimple patches? Besides being sold at almost every convenience store and pharmacy, like CVS and Walgreens, the Starface patches turned into a stylistic choice. Over the last year, they became very popular with teenagers. Thanks to the design of the star and the bright yellow or blue color that the patches are available in, pimples, which are often seen as a source of embarrassment, turned into a fashion statement. Senior Tiko Tvauri says, “The patches are pretty expensive. I [she] don’t even wear them overnight. I [she] save them for school where they can be incorporated with my outfits.” Instead of covering pimples with concealer and other makeup which worsens the state of pimples, I often see students in my school wearing the patch! Some students, like Tiko, who feel their outfit is lacking some color even wear the star patches without having a pimple to cover! Therefore, whether you choose to wear the Starface pimple patches as a fashion accessory or improve the state of your pimples, I recommend investing in the patches!
