After an endless number of music rehearsals, football games, and competitions, the seniors of the CHS Marching Band participated in their very last marching band event. The Montclair Band Festival takes place every year at Montclair State University in New Jersey, where bands from all over the state join together to perform their shows. They have taken part in this event for all four years, and Julianna Scofield, like others, is sad to see it end.

Scofield has been the drum major and top student leader for the past two years. When asked if she would change anything about this year’s overall performance and group, she replied with a grounded, “No.” She said she would change nothing about the band, considering that she liked this year’s show the best. “I don’t think I would’ve wanted to do another year because this year was so perfect in terms of the show and people,” she gushed.

Another senior, Sydni Haggerty, stated that she “felt really relieved that the show was finally over” but “sad that it meant that the marching band season was officially over.” Although she has only been a part of the band for two years, Haggerty has deemed it a great experience full of amazing memories.

The Montclair Band Festival has been a standing tradition for the band for many years. Although it is over, seniors will surely remember their last experiences at the Montclair Band Festival.
